Thrive Safety Leadership Centre wins Energy Institute's 2021 Health & Safety Award and Gold Award for Best Training Event at EVCOM London Live and Film Awards

ATT received two prestigious awards in one day when the Thrive Safety Leadership Centre was announced as winner of the Energy Institute’s 2021 Health & Safety Award and received the Gold Award for Best Training Event at the EVCOM London Live and Film Awards on Thursday 25th November.

Thrive, which was developed in partnership with renewable energy giant Ørsted, features a hard-hitting, multi-media scenario which examines the build-up to a fatal incident on a load-out operation and its consequences. Ørsted are inducting all personnel working on the Hornsea Two offshore wind farm project through Thrive. Valuable for people working in renewables, maritime and related sectors, Thrive is a legacy for Hornsea Two and a powerful example of innovation and excellence in the Humber’s rapidly developing renewables sector.

Energy Institute Awards judge, Ashley Hynds, Technical Director of Safety at WSP UK Ltd, said “ATT’s Thrive programme with Ørsted is clearly outstanding, and a worthy winner of the Energy Institute’s 2021 Health & Safety Award.  It won universal praise from the judging team. The scale and realistic nature of the events presented, and the commitment to the programme by Ørsted are impressive. Feedback from attendees confirms that it provides a really immersive and hard-hitting experience. The approach has the potential to be successfully applied across many other major hazard sectors. Well done to all at ATT for delivering such an impactful programme, and to Ørsted for having the vision to invest in safety in such an innovative way.”

Thrive received the maximum marks possible from one EVCOM judge and received the following feedback from another “This is an outstanding example of training excellence which is impactful, pedagogically sound, and highly memorable to the point of encouraging, maybe even securing, long-term behavioural change. It is also, now, a long-term asset for your client, and a benchmark against which all further training will be measured. While the investment must have been significant, the ROI is clear and long-lasting. Huge congratulations on an incredible event. An exciting and memorable submission.”
